Nova Preview

After the Boston College game on the Virgin Islands things have gone down hill quickly for the Hawks. They were close at half vs Purdue but Purdue is a second half team as shown when they played wake forest. The next game vs DePaul they had there chances to win it down the stretch. The same was true of the Rider game. When we played Cornell we couldn't stand the onslaught of the 12-0 run that the Big Red went on to start the second half.

Nova is coming of a gutsy performance that included 16 made 3-point shots on 39 shots. Hopefully the rims at the Palestra will not be as friendly to the Wildcats as the ones at the Verizon Center were.

Nova runs about 9 deep but is extremely guard oriented with little depth inside now that 5 star recruit Mouphtaou Yarou is out indefinitely with Hep B. Nova has 5 players averaging double figures. They are led by Senior Guard Scottie Reynolds. He averages about 30 minutes a game with 15 points per game. They do not have a dominate force like a Greg Monroe but Antonio Pena who is avergaging a double double every game with 12.6 points and 10.3 boards a game.

I think St Joes will come fired up for the rivalry game. I have the feeling the game will be close for 3/4 ths of the game but Nova will pull away in the end. I see the score being 79-67 Nova.
